How I'd spend $1,000
I’d probably use some of it on a doctor’s appointment (I don’t currently have health insurance), maybe some of it on a Wii/Wii Fit, as well as car repairs. If I had any leftover, I’d buy another external hard drive and use whatever’s remaining for gas and grocery’s. Not exciting, I know, but sometimes there are more important things than fun.

If I had easy access to a helicopter, I'd fly to...
Because I’d make her go watch Arsenal FC play (if we could get tickets). If we couldn’t, we might find another match to go to or just wander around London, because I’ve never been there.

Why I gave up on "Love and Sex With Robots"
I’d had it checked out of the library for far too long. I read half of it (the love part) and just didn’t have time to read the second half (the sex part). Once I eventually buy it for myself or check it out again, I’ll finish it.

Three overplayed songs I love anyway
Santi by The Academy Is … It’s an album, not a song. But I love pretty much all of this. It’s kind of a guilty pleasure of mine, without the guilt of course. I’m Yours by Jason Mraz I loved this song before it was ever on the radio and when it’s on the radio, it’s even just better. There are so many different live versions that even when one...

My favorite place to hear music: Necto
I’ve only been there once, but it was a brilliant location for the Armin van Buuren gig I saw. I’ve seen him other places, but this one pretty much topped them all. We were VIP (of course, since we only went to see Armin and we’re not big dancers) and were close enough to get photos with him and signed posters. Everything was really intimate and just the way I like it.

My road-trip mix tape
Plane by Jason Mraz It’s more for flying, but it’s a travel song and I adore it. In & Out of Love by Armin van Buuren It’s got a nice beat, something fast and pacey — plus it’s got lots of words I can sing to, which is something that I like in a song I have on while driving. Night Out by Röyksopp It’s not actually a song, it’s...

In defense of my vice: teh internets
teh internets by stephen boisvert (srboisvert) My vice is the internet. It started when I was in high school. My dad, being a college professor, was one of the first in our small university town to get the free dial up. I surfed the web before there were web browsers. I used Gopher and Usenet and all email went through my dad’s university address. My first email communication was with two...

My first job: food service
It was only for a semester in college, before I got a job working in the school’s library. But it was pretty fun. I worked in a small dining hall between classes (sometimes lunch and sometimes dinner). It wasn’t enough to live on, but then again I didn’t need it for that reason. I enjoyed working there, but was happy when I got another job.

When I get home, I put on pajamas ...
I want to keep my clothes as wrinkle-free as possible. Plus, I don’t necessarily want to just wear them one time.

Charlotte Perkins Gilman: the pattern of despair -... →
“Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s eerie 19th-century novella ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’ became a classic of feminist fiction, a pioneering portrait of the trauma of postnatal depression. As the book is reissued by Virago, Justine Picardie investigates the life of its author, who, unlike her heroine, broke free from the oppressive shackles of her mind.”

this is more right that you know
Your result for The Sorting Hat Test… Ravenclaw You scored 61% Order/Chaos, and 37% Moral/Rational Orderly Rationality. You like the follow the rules unless there’s a very good reason not to, and you try to keep an objective, rational look on life. Your strength lies in your ability to understand complex things by keeping a clear head and going through step by step; your weakness...

end of the year, beginning of a new one
Despite anything I might have said previously, I don’t actually believe 2009 will be any different from 2008. In fact, it doesn’t even feel different (not that it should). I am just as annoying, irritating and cranky as I was last year. So, you know. Happy New Year, but don’t expect things to change. Because they won’t.
